Play Chess!

Cambridge Chess Club (the 'City Club') meets on Wednesday evenings at St. Augustine's Church Hall. The meetings start at 7.30pm. We aim to offer both casual and serious chess for players of all standards.

You will find more information, including where we meet and when, on the About Us pages.

New Visitors

If you've not visited us before, you can find out all about who we are and what we do on the About Us pages. New visitors to the club are always welcome. Feel free to drop by unannounced; usually there's someone who's up for a friendly game. (See the 'Play Chess!' box for details.)

This Week at the Club

On Wednesday night this week (20th August 2008), we invite you to come and play in a Buzzer Tournament. The rules are simple: when the buzzer sounds, you have to move! You get 10 seconds for every move, and once you get into the rhythm, it's a lot easier than you'd think. There's no desperate time-scramble to finish, so come along and have fun.

Why not pop along for a friendly game? Just turn up and find yourself someone to play against! If you arrive after 19:30 and find everyone absorbed in a game - as can happen, especially when we're all playing against the clock - then just take seat and someone will come over and say hello as soon as possible.
