Board 4 saw the Dons captain gradually overcome Melford in a Sicilian to level the match situation. On board 3, a slow English opening gradually picked-up pace to see Ole Bay-Petersen break through against his opponent's king. Colin only escaped at material cost, and when Colin blundered a further rook in extreme time-trouble, the Academicals clinched the match by a point.
