University Chess Club Programme

Published 18th January 2007

The Cambridge University Chess Club have published the first half of their term programme. City club members are usually welcome to most events, but, as non-members of the University club, City club members may be asked to pay a small entry fee to attend certain events.

Welcome back to the start of a new term, and more chess!

Our first event this term is a regular club afternoon this Saturday, at 4 - 6 pm in the Trinity Junior Parlour. Do come along and have a game!

Also, there has been a slight delay in confirming the schedule of events for this term; an email will be sent round when this is finalised, and it will be put up on the website. However, to whet your appetites, here is a rough guide to the first half of the term:

  • Sat 20/1: Insurance Club Match + club afternoon

  • Sat 27/1: Simultaneous Display by NM Duane Rowe (Jamaica)

  • Sat 3/2: Talk (Endgame Theory) by Richard Mycroft

  • Sat 10/2: Club afternoon

  • Sat 17/2 and Sun 18/2: Club championship

That's all for now - see you on Saturday!

Best wishes,

Sean Lip
