University League Volunteers Required

Published 26th October 2007

The Cambridge City chess club has traditionally entered a couple of teams in the University league, and the University's season is about to start. The league is excellent for the variety of opposition and for easy transport - all games are played here in Cambridge. Unfortunately our first team captain is having to withdraw from chess, and the second team captain doesn't play chess himself and is only temporarily running the second team until a volunteer can be found. We are therefore asking members to consider whether they would be willing to organise one of these teams. No previous experience is necessary, although a regular e-mail connection is essential. If you are interested please contact Philip Fallon (either directly or via news@cambridgechess.org.uk) by next week. If we don't get any volunteers, then we will simply withdraw the teams.

7th November Update

Chris Stewart is now looking after City I, and Lee Chapman is looking after City II. However, if we are still looking for volunteers to help run these teams, so please get in touch if you're interested.
