The Summer Swiss will consist of 5 rounds of long-play games spread over the summer. Each date on the calendar is a round start date with the games having to be played before the start of the next round.

Round 2 start date.

The Rapidplay Grand Prix will consist of two rounds of one-hour games (30-minutes per player). Juniors are welcome and encouraged to join in, for either one or two games per evening.

Round 3 start date.

Paul Kemp has kindly agreed to organise an evening during which we will experience versions of chess which have unorthodox rules. An evening of fantasy and confusion in equal measure, and a great opportunity to beat the 'good' players at the club!

Round 4 start date.

Mike Bradley has kindly agreed to present a lecture and discussion. (Subject to be confirmed.)

Note: This date was originally reserved as a Club Championship night, but this has now been changed; the club championship will start slightly later in the year. More details will follow on the Club Championship pages when they are available.

Round 5 start date.

Ole Bay-Petersen has kindly agreed to present a lecture and discussion on a little-known classic encounter.

We are hoping to arrange a friendly match at Bedford chess club with the games long-play graded.
