Cambridge City Chess Club - 2007 Town v Gown
Match Report
This year was the biggest Town v Gown match so far, and I hope you all enjoyed the match as much as I did. The University did an excellent job arranging such a large team - and especially for getting half of their victorious Varsity team to play.
It was clearly a very sporting match played in the right spirit, with both team captains generously donating 2 points to the opposition! Well done to Andre and Stephen, who both scored 2/2 for the University, and to all the players who did equally well for the Town. The final score was a comfortable 28½ - 15½ win for the Town. Patrick may need to investigate some of the estimated grades of the University's bottom boards!
